A year ago, today, I was in the middle of Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia! 🇧🇴
It looks like it was yesterday, but also years ago! There were many many days out of my comfort zone, but now that I am back in my comfort zone, I also miss being out of it 😂

The day before nothing was going right, we took a bus for 22 hours from Ushuaia to El Calafate, and when we arrived there, we had booked the hostel for the next night instead of the right one! 😅 we ended up sleeping, each in a different room with different people! The next morning we went to pick up our rental car, and that was also a fail, as they didn’t allow us to take the car without a credit card. After a couple hours we managed to rent another car to another company and started driving to El Chaltén. We arrived later than we expected and decided to start the trail we were supposed to do the next day, but that implied taking the tent and food with us! It was also difficult to find a taxi to take us to the beginning of the trail as it was on a rough road! 😂
The goal was to hike at 4am for the summit sunrise and see Fitz Roy mountain! It was raining and snowing! The white dots in the picture are snowflakes 😂 but we got this view in the end, and well, it was all worth it!!! 🤍
P.S.- we saw Fitz Roy only on the way down when the hottest day and bluest sky turned up! 😂

Feeling like you live in a National Geographic documentary!
One of the highlights of this trip, was undoubtedly the Galápagos Islands in Ecuador. The wildlife is amazing and not afraid of the human race like in so many places. Mainly due to their high knowledge, respect and care in not disturbing the nature. I left wishing that more places (or even the utopia of all the world) behaved like this.
Definitely a place I would like to return to!

📍Termales Santa Rosa de Cabal, Colombia

This was an enormous surprise to us! It wasn’t in our plans to visit it, but in the end, our friends recommended it and we had some extra time in Salento, so we decided to leave a day earlier and spend the night in Pereira! And I’m so glad we did it! It’s easily reachable from Pereira by public transports, and we did it in half a day. We loved the surrounding landscape and the dramatic waterfall so close to the multiple hot pools! So worth it! You can also bathe in the cold waterfall water! 😉

Bienvenido a Cartagena, or in our case, it was goodbye time! :)
